Hi Andrea - question for you on City Market....I ran into a not so friendly cashier this past week (grrrr). I handed her a printed coupon and a MQ from the Sunday paper for an item. She informed me that I was only allowed to use one coupon per item - "they are all manufacturer's coupons you see." I haven't had any problem with this in the past and am wondering if that '3 of like coupons' means what I am trying to do? I would like to know your thoughts and also ask how you would have handled the situation. It is so frustrating and embarrassing when they treat us like we are trying to get away with something! Thank you!!

First of all thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving me a comment! That means the world to me!

As far as City Market goes, she was right. We can only use one mfg coupon per item. Some stores have "store coupons" and those can be "stacked" / or used together with a mfg coupon. When you read "3 of like coupons" what they are referring to is you can only use 3 coupons the same for 3 of a like items. Such as if you were to purchase 4 Sunday papers, you would have 4 coupons a like, but you could only use 3 of them in one transaction and you would have to use the 4th coupon in a separate transaction. I'm so sorry the lady was rude, I have so many of those cashiers I can't count. But I encourage you keep on using coupons it's a blast and well worth it!!!

Blessings!

Hi again! Thanks so much for answering and helping me! I am so confused though - I guess I am totally guilty of getting away with stuff I shouldn't have been! Can you stack coupons? If so, how and which ones? Sorry to keep coming back to it - I thought I had the hang of it and then BOOM! LOL - I love your blog. Thanks again for all your help.

I'm guilty of getting away with a few too. One time I was going to purchase something and had my coupons ready and then for some reason or other I didnt purchase the item and still gave the coupon. I lok a lot closer now, but normally a coupon will go through.

As far as "stacking" goes. Safeway, Target, Walgreens, King Soopers and Dollar General put out store coupons. Where normally it reads manufacturer coupon at the top on a store coupon it reads "store coupon". Those you can use with a manufacturer coupon (one of each).

I hope that helps. Do you have any other questions I can help you with :)
