THRIFTY TIP TUESDAY: How to make your candles last longer!

When you live in a world of frugal there's so many ways to save money.  Even when it comes to burning candles. At our home Mike loves the smell of a candle burning, but I hate to just burn money away.  So we meet in the middle.  First we trim the wick to 1/4" before we "freeze" them.  Sounds crazy, but I like to freeze them for a good hour before I light them.  Cold candles last longer and drip less, of course this is only a short term solution.  It's perfect for a dinner light or short applications.  When it comes to a jar candle invest in a candle warmer ($5 on eBay) it will save you a ton of money in the future!  Candles last twice as long when used on a candle warmer.  They are also wonderful if you're like me and forget to blow out the candles, not to mention if you have cats or small children they are a answered prayer!

I think those candle warmers are one of the best inventions ever!

I had no idea that freezing your candles makes them last longer! I'm going to keep that in mind! Thanks for sharing your tip and linking to Thrifty Tip Tuesday!
